ASRA NCS Rule Book
Section 1 - Governance

General - These Rules govern the 2021 ASRA Racing Series. These rules shall apply to every event in the Series Schedule.

ASRA RACING SERIES Authority
- These Rules shall be applied, constructed and interpreted by the ASRA Officials and their interpretation shall be final. The ASRA Racing Series reserves the right to revise these Rules at any time.

ASRA RACING SERIES Driver Conduct:
- This series since its foundation has taken pride in the fact that the level of professionalism among the drivers has been very high. On occasion drivers have been known to swear at their mistakes. Some drivers don't mind that, but some drivers may. Please keep the use of profanity at yourself or towards other drivers to a minimum. Arguing, flaming, and name calling will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate ejection or loss of points.
Section 2 - ASRA Series Guidelines

Eligibility
- Every driver has to have completed the entry form before he or she can participate in the ASRA. Cars files should be emailed to the series director and posted before they can take the track in competition.

Car Files
- Cars must be emailed to the series director and posted before they can take the track in competition. Each driver is entitled to FOUR cars for painting, two oval cars and two road course cars. A driver will not be allowed to change numbers then submit more cars, once the drivers car number is agreed upon it may not change the rest of the year, unless the driver quits then the number will become available for a new driver.

Series Logos
- A series logo must be placed on aeroscreen behind the drivers shoulder, and can be placed on the nose as an optional location.

Section 3 - Races

Starting Field
- The ASRA NCS will set the field at 25 maximum starters. Races will consist of actual drivers from the ASRA Racing Series only. No computer cars will be used.

Driver Visibility -
Each driver is required to be in the right car for each race. Speedway configuration for tracks 1.5 Miles or larger, Road Course configuration for the rest. Fueling ports are not a big deal.
The Series director will also communicate which configuration should be selected for the event.
If a driver enters with the wrong configuration, the Series director will restart the practice session after time has expired to allow the driver to change, and then immediately preceding to the Qualifying session.

Missing Races (UPDATED 11/10/20)
- If a driver will cannot make the race, he/she must let Series officials know in writing (Email, Social Media, Text) before the qualifying session begins in order to be eligible for provisional Points.
- Provisional points will be awarded based on the place of the actual last place finisher.
- As of 11/10/2020 it has been amended that a driver may utilize a provisional FOUR times per season of ASRA Competition, any more than that and the driver will be deemed part-time and not eligible for any more provisionals.

Setups
- Fixed Setups will be used for this series. Every driver will be able to access these setups prior to the race upon request or during an open mid week test session. Input is strongly encouraged to help make the setup the best it can be to promote close competition. All setup adjustments will be final one week prior to the event.

Qualifying (NEW 8-10-21)
1. Road and Street Circuits :
The traditional qualifying session in NR2003 will be skipped over, and the random draw will determine pit stalls for the race.
- The random draw will also classify the field into two qualifying groups, Group A (Odd Pit Numbers) and Group B (Even Pit Numbers)
At the start of the group session. (To be executed in NR2003's Happy Hour Session),
Group A will have 1 minute to line up at the end of pit lane, after the minute has elapsed, Group A will have 4 minutes to enter the track to attempt one or more qualifying laps. After 4 minutes concludes, drivers will complete the lap they are on and return to
the pit lane. Proper Exiting and Merging techniques and rules will apply. Those who violate track limits can face a penalty.
- Group B will then have 1 minute to line up at the end of pit lane, and then begin their 4 minute qualifying session, and subsequent return to pit lane. Proper Exiting and Merging techniques and rules will apply. Those who violate track limits can face a penalty.
- The field will then be set from the fastest recorded time to slowest and Race officials will call out the starting order.

Official Race
A Race will only be considered official if a series director(s) are present at the race. In the event a race is not official, it will be the decision of the league director as to when the race will be made up.

Gridding of Cars (Group Qualifying session) (8-10-21)
ASRA will not utilize a full pace lap prior to the traditional NR2003 start of the race at Road and Street Circuits (Michigan Possible).
Instead, when the entire field has crossed the start finish line, the race directors will help set the field according to the group qualifying results that were recorded. The field will then be in control of the POLE SITTER and he will call out the start of the race.

Method Of Starting And Restarting
All Races, including qualification attempts, starts and restarts shall begin with a flying start.

Start/Restart/Cautions/Racing Conduct
- A pace car will be used to Pace the field at the start of a race and during cautions. The Pace Car will have its flashing lights on during the yellow flag laps after the race has started. At the appropriate time, the flashing lights will be turned off, indicating intent to start the race the next time across the starting line. Once the pace car turns onto pit road, control of the restart is turned over to the leader of the race. The leader should keep current speed or gradually accelerate for the restart. Passing the pace car before the green flag/green light is displayed a penalty may be assessed. PASSING AFTER THE GREEN FLAG WILL BE ALLOWED ONCE THE FIELD HAS EXITED TURN ONE.
-Section B (Road Course Cautions) (8-10-21)
In game cautions will be turned off and any accidents deemed to be severe enough (blocking the track, many cars involved) can be called a full course caution by the series director. The LEADER of the race will then reduce speed and let the field form behind.
At the completion of the FIRST lap of caution, PIT LANE WILL BE OPEN for any cars choosing pit service.
At the completion of the SECOND lap, the race will resume with a command from the OFFICIAL Race Leader.
- ASRA has a NO RACING BACK TO THE YELLOW FLAG Policy. Please be courteous to other drivers and slow gradually and hold your position.

RACING WITH UNDER 10 LAPS REMAINING:
- PASSING ON A RESTART MAY OCCUR ONCE THE DRIVER HAS PASSED THE START FINISH LINE
- RACING BACK TO THE FLAG WILL BE ALLOWED AT THIS POINT (TO MAINTAIN CONSISTENCY WITH THE TMP RACING LEAGUE)

Cheating -

If any driver is caught cheating, the incident will be bought up before the ASRA officials, and discussed with other drivers. A plan of action will then be taken. This series was established to be fun and enjoyable, cheating will only hurt yourself. We in the ASRA RACING SERIES want to have fun, and not worry about cheating.
