The Bull Returns This November!

Welcome to the 2023 Bull Run 1000 website!

The Bullrun 1000 was run yearly between 1997 and 2012 using
Nascar Racing 2, 3, 2002, 2003 and Rfactor in the month of November.

While sports car racing has evolved, Bullrun has been left quiet.
The NASCAR Racing 2003 community today is still strong, and they

are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of this groundbreaking racing

simulator.

With that sparked the idea to bring the Bullrun 1000 back to NASCAR 2003 for the anniversary celebration.

NR2003 as is affectionately called, forever changed sim racing with the introduction of different car physics to the sim.

Now a racer could choose a Craftsman Truck, a Winston Cup Car, a Busch Series car and a Trans Am style car, all which ould handle different than each other.

A popular web team named The Pits, created a version of the                                                                                                    sports car mod called The Pits Touring Car Championship. And                                                                                                they used this TPTCC Mod for the 2003 and 2004 editions of the                                                                                              Bullrun 1000.

The 2003 edition saw live driver swaps for the first time as racers                                                                                              would pit their car, "crash" their game and their teammate would                                                                                            reconnect and resume the race. What was unheard of 20 years ago                                                                                          has now become the norm.

Time moved on and Bullrun received its third facelift and was ported to Rfactor. And for NR2003, racing at Bullrun was essentially over. Some leagues would run the track from time to time, but it never again saw the attention it drew from the 1000 KM enduro.

While only a two time entrant, the fictional venue in Colorado held a special place in the heart of Roger N. At that time he had his own sim racing league, and hosted a round at the circuit, and it eventually fell by the wayside.

From time to time after that Roger would think about Bullrun and recall an event that was so much fun to participate in.
"There were drivers from Europe, Australia and South America all competing in this event. It really was international."

In 2022, Roger would stumble on a carset posted on Stunod's website that would reignite the idea for Bullrun.
"I saw a carset for the Australian Supercars using the 2019 Cup Series body and thought man, that would be a blast to run those cars at Bullrun."

While an attempt to organize a 2022 edition of Bullrun fell short, the
release of the 2023 Aussie racing series sealed the deal for Roger.

"Once I saw this amazing car set with the wing on the back, I knew
I had to give this a shot. It seemed too good to pass up."

And with that, there is a breath of life back to the old road course.

This website is the first step into what will hopefully turn into a green flag with almost a full field and a live broadcast of the event. Stay tuned for updates and additions.

The goals are add a team entry form page quickly, and deciding what Mod to use for the race, adding one or two race administrators. We will also update the rules page that was used for the 2003-2005 Bullrun. And anything else that might need to be addressed.

We will also aim to host a couple testing events along the way, so teams can make sure they have everything in order that they need.

If you read all the way to the end of this, I thank you very much for your time, and hopefully will see you on track this fall!

-Roger
